Have you ever been entirely stressed to the point of depression, and instead of being the least bit compassionate, people just kick you even harder? There’s an old saying, “You can only kick an old dog so many times before it bites you.” What’s even more sick is after the fact, when the people doing the kicking stand around giving commentary that the ‘bite’ was “unexpected,” or that the distressed person “obviously had serious mental issues.”

I’m dumbfounded at people who goad and antagonize others to do things and are mystified when they actually do them. As if the person with the knife is gonna say, “No, I was just gonna make a you a sammich.”

Many decry society based on a complete lack of good manners, evoking memories of an earlier time when the word “please” was always followed by a “thank you,” and a “thank you” was always followed by “you’re welcome.” While it’s true that many have no regard for others, it’s always good to see that at least a few of our youth have learned the value of these sorts of niceties.
