It’s no big secret I haven’t been reading a lot of other blogs for a while. It’s not because I’m a selfish ass, it’s just about time. Well, that, and that I can’t find an RSS reader I like. Quite honestly, I wish I had a nipple on my ass just for Google Reader. While it works well for many, I have nothing but problems with it.
I’ve been hitting a lot of tangent reads, however, while looking at stats, and I’ve come across some that are just fit right in with my own twisted sense of humor.
FU, Penguin is absolutely brilliant. As an animal lover, I just can’t help but look at the beautiful pictures, and think about all the wonderful things this author has to say about each one of God’s creatures. It just warms my heart, and sometimes, even gives me a woody. I love this blog so much, that I may actually buy the book rather than downloading it from Limewire.
I found this next blog due to some 17-year-old prick from Michigan writing a crap article about the Ten Five Worst Blogs Ever. Apparently, his math skills were as bad as his authorship. I think it comes from buying too many fake drugs from 8 Mile. So STFU, kiddo. Eminem you are not. And neither is Eminem.
And thus is the introduction to one of my new favorite reads, The Worst SEO Blog Ever!, however SEOHack hasn’t written in days because he’s too busy microblogging stupid shit on Twitter. If he could pull his head out of his rectum for five minutes, I’d actually like to have a chat with him, because, as the blog suggest, his SEO Blog is tremendously poor, while his SEO Skill is extremely high. Irreverent, intelligent, and insightful as it may not be, I thoroughly enjoy reading it.
And while we’re on the subject of finely attuned, irreverent link-whores, we certainly can’t forget our good friend Fracas, who’s closed her old wordpress.com blog in favor of her own domain so that she can put up ads to her heart’s — and pocket book’s — delight.
Don’t spend all those pennies in one place, Fracas, mah dear. I mean, seriously, one good Snickers bar, and the blog fund will be broke all over again. 😉
While the media keeps going off to castigate Fort Hood as a violent military installation, do remember that it houses nearly 50,000 people. It’s less a Base than a medium-sized small town. It’s also on the outskirts of the small city of Killeen, Texas.
Please keep this in mind when you listen to this “bullshit” that Media keeps portraying about “so much violence in recent years.” At least half of said violence has been caused by people who didn’t even belong there, much more in off-base apartments, etc. etc. Its “record of violence” is miniscule when compared to “business as usual” in many average towns of the same size, so these assertions by Media — made because they have nothing REAL to report — are becoming pretty ridiculous.
In the meantime, for those who *have* the heart and soul that our media seems to lack…
Yes, as seen on morning, daytime and nightly television, it’s the FABULOUS, HIGHLY SOUGHT AFTER Balloon Boy costume, just in time for Halloween!
The gondola is a semi-scale precision laser cut unit that attaches to the bottom of Plantraco’s 38″ metallized nylon flying saucer balloon. It has the same chance of lifting your 6-year old as the one you may have seen on CNN or MSNBC TV. So don’t call the national guard or you might get yourself in a bit of trouble eh? It’s a bit smaller, but we are certain you can still fool CNN’s Wolf Blitzer for a long while to come! That’s whatcha call quality investigative journalism right? Right!
Of course, it doesn’t take much to fool monotonous mediatard Wolf Blitzer, the man who singlehandedly caused the shooting death of FBI Agent Linda Franklin on October 14th, 2002 by going on television to goad and belittle the then-famous, and media-addicted, Beltway Sniper with statements like, “You’re not a real sniper! A real sniper would make head shots!” Agent Franklin was, of course, fatally shot in the head only hours later, as she left a DC-Area Home Depot.
The fact that this asshat is still on television grates my nerves.
Well, that, and every other ridiculously speculative, non-story they re-air every fifteen minutes… Oh, like how they accused security guard Richard Jewell of trying to blow up Olympic Centennial Park… or … Balloon Boy…
Tip: Okay, Anton sent the lin to the Halloween Costume, which is brilliant. But seeing Wolf Blitzer’s name in print just pissed me off…
In his speech on October 6th, 2009, Obama did little but bless our Intelligence Community for their diligence and integrity.
The record of your service is written in the attacks that never occur because you thwarted them, and in the countless Americans who are alive today because you saved them. For that, America is in your debt.
Few Americans know about the work that you do, and this is how it should be. Your assignments require it, and obviously, you didn’t go into this line of work for the fame and glory or the glare of the spotlight. You’re in it to serve and protect.
So I say to every American, “You see the headlines, but here are some of the people who help write them, who keep you safe.” And I say to all of you, “You are setting the standard. You’re showing us what focused and integrated counter-terrorism really looks like.”
To think about the profound impact that all of you are having on the day-to-day life of this nation I think is extraordinary. Your professionalism is essential to protecting this country.
We’re facing determined adversaries who are resourceful, who are resilient, and who are still plotting. And no one can ever promise that there won’t be another attack on American soil.
But I can promise you this: I pledge to do everything in my power as president to keep America safe. And I pledge to give all of you the tools and support you need to get the job done around the world and here at home. And I pledge to stay focused on that mission, just as you stay focused on your mission.
Because of you and all the organizations you represent, we’re making real progress in our core mission: to disrupt, dismantle, and defeat al-Qaida and other extremist networks around the world.
We must never lose sight of that goal. That’s the principal threat to the American people. That is the threat that led to the creation of this center. And that must be the focus of our efforts to defend the homeland and our allies, and defeat extremists abroad.
Obama made a similar speech earlier this year at the CIA, only weeks before loosing the Attorney General to stifle investigations of terrorists, and even prosecute some of the very people he made the speech to.
One has to wonder whether it’s coincidence or doublespeak.
