In this day and age, people are quite comfortable with the idea of surgical manipulation in order to be closer to their idea of “beautiful.” Hollywood is at the forefront, forcing upon us a veritable army of flat-faced, straight-bodied androgyny in a size two. Although many people still decide to do it since they’re great professionals out there that know The Art of Plastic Surgery and how to make people look exactly how they want to.

Thankfully, there are many places that are ready to provide this service while making sure the procedure is safe, sterile, and no complications arise from it. Places like Body sculpting Manhattan for example, do everything in there power to be as professional as possible, since as you can imagine many people choose not to to undergo these procedures out of fear something might go wrong. At the end of the day it can be considered a not necessary medical procedure, so the risks must be low and you should entrust yourself only to the best places available for your safety and health.

When we look at the Hollywood stars of the forties, fifties and sixties, we find women who still looked like women, with natural breasts, curves and even “flaws” which made them unique and adorable, now everybody finds a doctor to chance something about their body, even the small things like Laser hair removal Skinmd1. We’re used to people being at the ridiculous end of Politically Correct when we hear “California.” But in Utah last week, the Canyons School District decided to overturn a vote for the new Draper High School’s mascot because the word “may be offensive to some women.” Other news reports are more specific, saying the word “might be seen as offensive to middle-aged women.”

Yes, Cougars.

If subsequent reports are correct, Draper, Utah must be full of sexually aggressive, middle-aged women seeking relationships with men up to the age of 24.

Amusingly, Brigham Young University’s mascot is the Cougar. When considering the Mormonism & Polygamy bit, I suppose the BYU Sugar Daddies might’ve been more appropriate.

Everyone’s apparently forgotten about Clinton’s 1995 Communications Decency Act, which was an unconstitutionally vague few paragraphs of the larger Clinton Communication Act which left most anything on the Internet open to being listed as “indecent” and requiring an immediate takedown.

Everyone’s also forgotten about Clinton’s attempted 1997 and 1998 Intellectual Property & Copyright Acts, which ended up coming down so hard on online music sharing community, Napster. Further, people forgot the fight against Clinton’s 2000 Digital Millennium Copyright Act and the fisticuffs in Congress that made our politicians look as bad as a meeting at Japanese Parliament.

In the end for SOPA & PIPA, logic prevailed. The bills weren’t shelved due to someone in Congress not being able to get their dose of LOLcats for a day, but rather because it’s all happened before, and they knew this would play out about as well as a re-run of a bad 90’s soap opera.

Still, it made me a bit nostalgic for the Internet culture of the 90’s where, rather than utilizing heavy-handed activism, the Internet lashed out in more creative ways:

Taking sites offline against to rage against the mere possiblity that SOPA & PIPA might pass made about as much sense as the age-old quote, “Fighting for Peace is like F#$*ing for Chastity.”

To some degree, this sort of belligerent activism reminded me of last years Facebook meme, “Change your online avatar to a cartoon character to end child abuse!” It was a completely empty gesture, and besides, given my penchant for Bloom County, Calvin & Hobbes and my own silly comic strip from the early 90’s, it’s completely apparent that I was solely responsible for eradicating child abuse in 1994…

And I would answer them by saying, “As often as possible, or at least once a day, whichever is first.” Not that my sex life is any of their business…
